So do you ever feel alone or the odd one out?

It’s not easy being different. Because being different feels like you don’t blend in with the crowd. It feels like you don’t fit perfectly in to the everyday jigsaw of life.

It feels that what works for and applies to others, does not always work for, or apply for you. It can be a lonely place.

Social Anxiety

Having a high sensitivity to outside stimuli such as sounds, big personalities, hectic environments and large crowds, used to cause extreme sensory overload and social anxiety for me. I felt like I ‘didn’t fit in’. I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin or ever part of the group.

Nothing is Wrong with Me

The majority of other people didn’t appear to be affected this way. So, for as long as I can remember, I have always wondered what was wrong with me.

So through Reiki, I have learnt that actually, nothing is wrong with me. I have learnt to accept myself, as I am; Just different, like the white daffodil in this photo.

Because of Reiki I have learned that being and feeling different is ok. That I am ‘good enough’.

So, my beautiful souls, whatever your issues with self-acceptance are, Reiki can help you too.
